Abigail studied Law at Canterbury Christ Church University and graduated in 2014 with a first-class degree. She then attended the University of Law in Guildford and completed the Legal Practice Course.
Abigail joined Hallett & Co in 2015. She qualified as a solicitor in 2017 was made a Partner in 2021.
Abigail is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and specialises in the administration of estates, administration of trusts, wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Alice earned her Law degree from the University of Surrey, graduating in 2022. She joined the firm in July 2023 and is currently a Graduate Apprentice Solicitor in our Private Client department. Alice works under the supervision of Harriet Thorneloe at the Lenham Office whilst studying for the SQE, gaining hands-on experience while continuing her legal training.

Alice started working at Hallett & Co in 2007 and qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2020. After a sabbatical from work to spend time with her two children, Alice rejoined the firm in May 2025 in the property department and is supervised by Mark Dewey.

Amanda qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2006 having spent several years working full time in London while attending University part-time. Andrew joined Hallett & Co in September 2004 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2006. He was made partner in 2008.
Prior to joining Hallett & Co as a trainee solicitor, Andrew undertook his undergraduate law degree at the University of Plymouth and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of the West of England, Bristol, and worked with two national firms.

Giles studied law at the University of Nottingham, then passed the Solicitors Final Examinations with Honours before completing his training at the former local firm of Winch Greensted & Winch (coincidentally, in the very office that FordLittle now occupies). After a spell as Partner in charge of Commercial Litigation at a leading North Kent firm, he achieved a long-held ambition to establish his own practice in 1992.
With well over thirty years’ experience, Giles has established a strong following amongst both business and personal clients. Giles now works at the Ashford Office as a consultant.

Jemma Studied History and Religion at the University of Kent before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law with the University of Law in 2019. She is currently completing the SQE

Mark is the firm’s Senior Partner and head of our Commercial Property department. He qualified as a solicitor in 1985, became a Partner in 1988 and became Senior Partner in 2015.
Mark can provide the full range of commercial and business conveyancing services, ranging from drafting of leases and tenancies to dealing with the purchases of offices, shops and businesses.

Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and became a Partner in the firm in 2000. He heads our Litigation department.
Martin’s area of speciality is Employment Law, acting for both employer or employee. He has acted in a wide range of claims in the Employment Tribunal. Recent claims have included disability discrimination, sex discrimination, age discrimination and unfair and constructive dismissal. He has over twenty two years’ experience in employment tribunal and debt recovery work.
As well as drafting Contracts of Employment, Service Agreements and staff handbooks, Martin also provides day to day advice to employers on all aspects of Employment Law, such as disciplinary matters, redundancy procedures, termination packages, confidential information and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
Martin is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.

Meg studied Law at the University of Kent and graduated in 2021 with a First Class Degree. She then went on to complete a Master’s Degree at the University of Kent in Medical and Criminal Law, graduating in 2022 with a Distinction.

Michael qualified as a Solicitor in 1972 in the City of London, and from 1975 spent eight years as a Partner with Appleby, a leading law firm in Bermuda. After returning to London he spent the next twenty five years as a Partner in the Private Client department of Taylor Wessing. He joined the firm as a Consultant in April 2013.
Michael advises on a wide range of private client issues from landed estates and private wealth planning, capital taxation, Wills and succession through to offshore arrangements including trusts, foundations and companies established in the world leading low tax jurisdictions. Michael has dealt with global probate issues with assets in Japan, has acted as a trustee of numerous family trusts and acts a Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection in mental health and disability cases.

Ruth graduated as a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Southampton and attended The College of Law Guildford to complete the Legal Practice Course before joining the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2001.
Ruth qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joined the firm’s Private Client Department.
Ruth completed the STEP Diploma and became a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in April 2008.

Sophie studied at the University of Kent Medway and graduated with First Class Honours. She then attended the College of Law in Guildford where she completed the LPC.
Sophie qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. Sophie spent time at a local firm before joining Hallett & Co in 2018 at the Lenham office.
Sophie specialises in residential sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties, buy to let sales and purchases, transfers of equity and remortgages.

Toby studied History at Worcester College, Oxford before completing the Graduate Diploma of Law and gaining a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. He trained with Allen & Overy LLP and qualified in September 2008. Post qualification, Toby worked at Harbottle & Lewis LLP in the Tax and Private Client department before joining Hallett & Co in April 2010. He became a partner of the firm in September 2012.
Toby specialises in Wills, Probate, Tax and Trust work, and Inheritance Tax planning. He also advises on Court of Protection matters and Lasting Powers of Attorney. He has over ten years’ experience in the field. Toby is especially interested in complex estates, and those containing agricultural or business assets. He is also interested in lifetime planning to mitigate Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax.
In his spare time, Toby enjoys spending time with his young and boisterous family and frequenting local eating establishments when time permits.

Xanthe is a solicitor who joined in 2023 the Sittingbourne office. She predominately deals with Residential Property matters and has been working in this field since 2018. Xanthe’s father was also a solicitor and so she has worked within a law firm for the majority of her working life.
Xanthe deals with sales and purchases or both freehold and leasehold properties, including new builds and shared ownership. Xanthe also assists clients with remortgages and transfers of equity.
Xanthe completed her Law Degree later in life at the University of Kent and then went on to complete her LPC and Master’s Degree at the University of Law in Guildford, where she graduated with a Distinction in 2019. Xanthe qualified as a solicitor in March 2021.

Zoe is a Paralegal working at the Sittingbourne Office. Zoe joined the firm in April 2021 as a Legal Secretary within the Private Client Department, she is supervised by both Giles Ford and Abigail Howland.
