Litigation
We have a long history in acting for small and large businesses in relation to property disputes.
We are aware that lengthy litigation can be costly to your business and will do everything we can to avoid action in the courts, such as organising, arranging and attending mediation, expert determination and arbitration and advising you on pre-action negotiations.
There are occasions, of course, where court proceedings are unavoidable and, where at all possible, our solicitors will undertake the advocacy required or where this is not possible, we have good working relationships with barrister’s chambers in London and in Kent.
We will work closely with our large commercial property team where necessary.
In addition to those areas identified under individuals (which we equally offer to businesses) we undertake the following areas of work:
- Disputes and advice in relation to repairs and dilapidations
- Service charge disputes and collection of service charges
- Rent reviews
- Forfeiture and possession proceedings acting for either landlord or tenant
- Lease renewal notices (Section 25 notices), notices for new Leases (Section 26 notices) and Lease renewal negotiations
- Sub-Tenants
- Charging orders and applications for sale in relation to debts and secured debts, we will also undertake the advocacy in such matters where necessary
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. If you have any questions or queries relating to any kind of property dispute, please contact our property litigation team.
